Taco Bell in Bangkok: Is it Different Than Abroad?

Taco Bell in Bangkok

Something that I really enjoy doing while I’m in Thailand is trying American fast food. The reason for this is that I want to compare the taste to back home in The United States. I recently wrote a piece about Texas Chicken in Bangkok and to be honest I can’t get enough of the delicious food they serve there also. Anyways, this post will look at Taco Bell and compare it back to Taco Bell in America. We will take a look at the menu items, flavors, overall cleanliness and the seating arrangements of the restaurants dining experience. Lets dive in to this experience at a Taco Bell in Bangkok, Thailand!

Flavors & Menu Items

Taco Bell in Bangkok has quite a few menu items to choose from. They also have some unique items they serve that we don’t have back in America. If you’d like to take at the menu you can click that link above or this one as well. Two items on their menu that I would like to talk about are the fries basket and of course the tacos. The basket of fries are a delicious batch of seasoned French fries topped off with Pico de Gallo, sour cream and some guacamole. The taste of the fries overall is on par with any restaurant that serves up fries and I would even go as far to say they tasted very good. Topping off the fries with that assortment of dips just makes the fries even better. Who would’ve thought that fries and Pico make such a good combination!

Adding on to the fries we have what Taco Bell is known for, tacos! The tacos come in a hard shell or a soft shell and are served up with fresh and delicious ingredients. You can expect lettuce, tomato, cheese and your choice of chicken tenders or beef on your tacos! That’s what I was talking about when I said they have some unique items. I’m not used to eating tacos with fried chicken tenders on them, but I have to say that its pretty good. There’s a supreme option too where you can add on sour cream or some other condiments too. Needless to say I thought the flavors and menu items were quite good overall.

Seating & Dining Room

As you can see in the photos below the dining room of this particular Taco Bell in Bangkok is quite spacious with a lot of room to sprawl out. The chairs are comfortable with cushions and they even have some electrical outlets located close to quite a few seats. This means that you can get some work done while you chow down on your nachos. I was able to comfortable sit in here for a few hours getting some work done while relaxing. You have a choice of whether to sit in a coffee shop style format with the small table and cushions chairs or at a high top table with higher chairs. There’s also some half-booths that have electrical outlets located inside.

Overall I cannot complain at all about the dining experience at this establishment in Thailand. Comparatively back in the United States most of the Taco Bell’s are not very dining room friendly. You would never want to set foot in most of them and just use them for the drive thru. I can’t say the same about that in Thailand though. This is an actual place that you could trade a coffee shop for to get some work done and also have something to eat. Where is this Taco Bell?

This Taco Bell is located at the Riverside Plaza near the Chao Phraya river and a fancy hotel. It’s located inside of a mall as well as next to a Bonchon Korean restaurant. There’s a Starbucks nearby too if you want to get some coffee. There’s ample shopping at this mall as well as a few other restaurants. You can also walk through the beautiful hotel to reach the river. There are some boats at the dock that can take you down river as well.
