If you are driving down to the beaches of Florida and are looking for a park to stop by on the way, then Suwannee River State Park in Live Oak, Florida is worth a stop. With its natural beauty and history, you will certainly enjoy a walk around this park for as long as you decide to stop. The park has numerous areas to relax, like under a Spanish moss-covered tree, and has wonderful views for everyone.

Beautiful Rivers

Suwannee River State Park has plenty of beautiful views outlying the Suwannee River. the picture below shows a train bridge that spans the river itself. Another river joins up here too. That river’s name is the Withlacoochee. The Withlacoochee and Suwanee Rivers run up to Southern Georgia and make their way down to where they combine at Suwannee River State Park.

Suwannee River State Park in Live Oak, Florida

Suwannee River State Park is located in Live Oak, Florida, which is situated in North-Central Florida. It’s located near where Interstate 10 and Interstate 75 come together. You can access the park from either one of these interstates. We came across this park when we were taking I75 back up to Georgia from Florida. It was a great stopping point to enjoy some beautiful river views and low-hanging tree branches with Spanish Moss draping down.

Suwannee River State Park Views & Trails

Some train tracks are located near the park and can allow some great views of the river. The trails wind their way past gorgeous views of the river with Spanish moss wistfully touching the water. If you happen to be heading back to the Midwest or other parts of the Southeast, then it may be worthwhile to check out another beautiful place that is a bit under the radar. Noccalula Falls is located in Northeastern Alabama near the town of Gadsden and is another spot that is worth the time to check out.
